His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.
He began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his success. Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
