Free poker tournaments are daily competitions that happen on quite a few of the best web poker rooms. Freerolls are much loved by the poker wagering community as they offer the poker players the hopes to win some actual money without losing any. The entry to these freerolls is – like their titles suggests – cost-free and jackpot $$$$ can vary from a few dollars for placing to a few hundred dollars for winning the big freeroll hold’em poker tournaments.

So why do the poker rooms have free tournaments? Is it because of their extremely benevolent makeup and the reality that they earn massive amounts of $$$$$ so they have a moral requirement to allot some of it back?

What do you think!

No of course it isn’t, the reason that the big poker websites offer free tournaments is to draw people to their site.

Here is the idea boiled down – You hear that a site has an amazing freeroll, it charges you zip to enter and you can capture 100 dollars. You think "fantastic!" and you go along to the poker site and sign up as a member so that you can gamble on the freeroll. You compete in and get knocked out early and are ticked off on the grounds that you believe you should have faired much better, or you get near the end and so you’re seeking even more play. So what happens? You wager some $$$$$ at the poker room and wager on another poker game!

Always check the freerolls for cash-out stipulations, you will just about always have to gamble on a couple of hands for actual $$$$ before they allow you take the $$$$ out. Often this is on a one to one basis, so if you come away with twenty dollars at the free poker tournament you’ll need to have gambled for 20 dollars in bona fide money in order for you to be able to draw out the $$$$$.
